Hello,
Today when I had her tied to the dock and in neutral with the motor running, no matter where the handle was, I would get different rpms. For example I would have the handle at half throttle and was getting 3000 rpms. Bring the handle back to idle and go up to half throttle again it was at 1000 rpms. So i gave a bit more gas and it jumps up to 4500 rpms. The same thing happened while in gear too. There was a loud click when going from idle to forward while in gear. Sometimes when I go from forward to idle the rpms start raising. The handle is getting harder and harder to move. I thing I need a new control box. What do you think? Sorry for the long post

Re: US Marine control box

I would get a new control box, and someone other than a Marine to install it. Maybe a US Navy Mechanic....

Still, Very Respectfully,

A new control may be premature. Make sure the cables are properly secured at the motor and in the control box before buying a new one.
