Can you tell me if the up/down tilt & trim button is replaceable on the side of the throttle? It moves the motor up and down but the button keeps falling off. Your help is greatly appreciated, Mike.

It depends on the particular control manufacturer, but yes they can be replaced. If it's a Mercury or US Marine control, you can get one from any Merc dealer. If it's a Morse control...get a Merc or US Marine control. Finding parts for Morse controls is all but impossible.

Re: Up/Down Button on Throttle

My experience was that I wanted to replace the switch assembly because one wire had shorted. It is US marine control box. You cannot buy just the switch, you must buy the switch, wires with terminals, and control handle assembly. Needless to say, I unsoldered and replaced the wire myself. The switch is made in Japan (where else?) and the printing on it was so small I could not read it without a jeweler's loupe. I'm sure there is an equivalent, but good luck finding it!
