i dont unplug mine and luckly i have only replaced 1 light in several years on 2 trailers, it may have just been old? Blow half your light out, man glad i dont have your truck and harnesss? i install my wiring myself but it sitll is fues protected from the taillights? then again my tow rig is s 1980 k10, not much suffistication there just brute truck!

Stolen lights man sounds like a tough neighborhood.

So various experiences with plugged in or not. My opinion still stands as.......
If they are unplugged then there can not even be the risk of an issue !!!

I try to make it a standard practice to unplug the light every time but have forgoten numerous times and never had a issue. I would prefer to have led but I have issues like greggholmes that atlest 2 times a year somebody cuts it close in the lot and takes a light out. Happend 1 time this year sofar and bent the wheel fender also (hit and run).
