I’m having trouble figuring out what this is, it was mounted next to my bilge with four hoses that were not used any help is appreciated.

What boat? What motor? Has the motor been replaced at one time or another. Looks like it might have been the hydraulic pump and controls for an add on tilt and trim and the original motor was replaced and they left that on the boat.

It’s an 82 ranger with a 91 Yamaha pro v 150. I believe you’re right that’s the only thing I could think of myself. Thank you

It is a very old style tilt trim pump.

I have a feeling your shop looks like mine. Lots of projects to be done someday with stuff too cool to scrap or things taken apart just to see how they work. Does your wife ever look around and tell you that you are an idiot in a roundabout way?

By the way I inherited the genes. My father was an engineer who worked on the Manhattan Project, atomic power division of a major company, and the Astro-Nuclear Project under Adm Rickover but the garage door opener in our home was made from the gearbox for the wringer of an old washing machine and a motor from an early clothes dryer.

LOL, yes that's my garage. My wife thinks I have to much junk but every once in a while I find a use for a part and then I am completely vindicated...
