I need to replace the O.P. switch on the engine but its almost impossible to get a wrench on it without taking off the exhaust manifold which I would rather not do. Its rusted and would just assume abandon it. Is there another port on the engine where I could install an oil pressure switch/sensor?

While most use a wrench, you can also use a socket. Have you tried a socket?

Not real familure with the motor, but if it has a oil pressure gauge then the switch could be Tee'd with the sender

The problem is the switch is so close to the exhaust manifold you cannot get a socket or wrench around it. No clearance for the socket sidewall.

Unless there is a gauge (don't think so) then guess its the man removal

Can you get anything on it, as in a channel lock pliers? Its shot anyway so banging it up a bit won't matter. Once out you can put a 45° elbow in the block to accept the new sender in a better access position. Just a thought.....
