Look familiar to anyone? I have the riser and exhaust off now. It looooooks like it was in the area of the casting plug? The one with the square or hex head plug in it? Is that possible? Does water run through there? Or is it more likely a riser squirt? It looked to me like it was coming from the direction of the head.
Ok, so first off, thank you for taking a look. Second - look at the direction of the splash. It looooooks like it's coming from the direction of the head and splashing onto the exhaust which is why I was curious about the plug. I have new gaskets on the way, but if I replace them and still have this squirt --- /sigh It WAS living it's life on chesapeake bay which is brackish - not fresh, so salt could have caused a problem.
Btw, this problem is new. When I went out for the sea trial and then went for the first rip, it was not evident. When I hooked up the hose to the drive water intake (shrug - not sure of the term) that's when it showed up. Prior to me trying to run the engine on the hose this wasn't leaking. (new to me boat)

Ayuh,...... Test it just like for a cracked block,......
Drain it, isolate the block, plumb 15psi of air into the system, 'n listen,....
The leak should be obvious,... if not, spray the sound with soapy water,.....
I'm back! She's identified this time. It is what I thought it was. Now what??? And why can't I post pix? Am I restricted or somethin? Anyway it is the hex casting plug rusted through the center. Will it back out or am I screwed?
