U.S Juniors Update

For those of you without access to the World Juniors Hockey tournament, the U.S is currently trailing the Slovaks by 3-1 in the 2nd period.
So time to pick it up for sure. That said, the U.S are out shooting them by a country mile and are due for some goals. They have had some smokin' chances and should be ahead in my opinion.
I'm hoping the U.S beats the Slovaks basically because, well they are a better team and they will give the Swedes, who they may play in the semi-final, a far better run for their money. As well, it will just be better hockey all around.
So, let's light it up down there and get that red light lit.

quick update for those interested:
....ok, now were getting somewhere.
The U.S have now scored and pulled within one goal....its now 3-2 early in the third period and they are pushing.

....sorry guys. Despite a great showing the Slovaks came out ahead 5-3....and unfortunately I think thats all she wrote for U.S in this tourney.
From what I saw, the U.S played a better game and I would have liked to have seen some more hockey the way Canada and the U.S showed it to be New Years eve.

...look for a bunch of those U.S players going in the draft this year, VanRiemsdyk, Wilson, Shroeder...some good talent there.

Was hoping to meet the Americans again, it doesn't look like that will happen.
The Slovaks are scary, as are the Russians. I can't figure what happened..
They played so good against us...
Its never a slam dunk in this tournament, as we know.

I've got the New Years game on the PVR and I'm gonna watch it again once the series is over. Pretend it's the medal game as I doubt we will see hockey as good as that again.

But kudos to the Slovaks on the win. The US has a good team.

Got the two games tomorrow set up on the PVR. Canada will have some trouble with the Russians, but as long as they keep their cool and keep out of the box, they should take the game.

Bummer we lost but that's the way it sometimes goes.
Now to look online for a game time list.

Thanks for support Bruce. If you want to check in on the game visually go to www.tsn.ca (The sports network), they have a live game feed which is pretty cool to check on the game from time to time if its of interest.
I've relied on this from time to time when I haven't been able to make it home for the odd important game.
I think it's going to be a very good game.
As for the U.S, they get better and stronger every year. 4 of the top 12 scorers in this tournament are U.S kids....still! even with the U.S out a couple of games now. It's a very strong, competitive matching of teams...never underestimate these kids, they all want it.
