I have a 2002 Loadrite trailer (bunk w/ keel rollers) which I use to tow my Boston Whaler 17' Montauk. The trailer frame is great but some of the bolts need to be replaced. There are approximately 4 U-bolts which hold angle brackets for the bunks and sit diagnal accross the frame. They are approximately 5" wide by 4" long. I have found all the hardware I need except for these and am having no luck. Is there anyone that knows where I can find these.

http://www.mcmaster.com/ and type "u bolt" in the "find product" box.

They have round or square in steel, galvanized or stainless.

If your Loadrite is like mine you'll have to order them from a trailer supply house. They use square shaped U-bolts instead of your typical U shaped bolts.

Look in your local phone book. I know of two custom bolt shops in my area. They make custom U bolts all the time.

You may also call local trailer shops or truck shops. They may have a source for customs.

I checked out McMaster and they only have 4 or 6" width. The Square u-bolts are 3/8" diam. x 5" wide x 4" long threaded aprroximately 2". I contacted Loadrite directly to see if they could help otherwise I have to go custom which could be a pain in the ***.

If there is a spring shop in your area give them a call. They should be able to make a u bolt for you.

Did you try any local marinas or boating stores?
Many of the local marinas or boating stores here carry good selections of u bolts.
