When you hit your 50's your body starts to tell you stuff.
if I had a CEL, it would read the following:
P0087
P0089
P00C6
P0134
P0299
P0300
P0700

Have a few door dings and sometimes the blinker is left on.

turning Vintage sucks....

I'm past my 50's, so far the cel has not gone off.

Have lots of stories, and a lot of scratches, dings, a few parts that had stress cracks.

So far there is no need for any additives to cure leaks, noises or suspension issues. 😎

It was about 55 that my check engine light started flashing ... first the knees, then the heart, then it seemed all the systems decided to take turns. After dealing with almost 40 ton of stone this past week my light is glowing bright! The roll bar from the tractor bouncing off the top of my head last night nearly knocking me out didn't help any ...

Like any old car, we have Creaks and Squeaks, some Body Panels are dented and creased. We take a lot longer to warm up and are slower to get moving and Rev Up, though on Occasion, seeing a Young Fresh Battery does create a Surge of Energy, however the old Battery is still lurking there, draining our energy

Few months back, trying to get in with the Doc....

Me "Doc, almost 54, need to run panels and labs to look for markers for X, Y, & Z as it may run in the family" Also need a specialist to look at my shoulder.

Me" Doc, also, need a referral to an allergist as something is kicking my butt allergy wise. my sinuses swell shut, eyes tear up and this chronic rhinosinusitis is getting worse this year

Doc "have you had a colonoscopy yet?"

Me "No, but I pooped in the box, you have those results"

Doc, "OK, will order some labs and get the referals going for the Allergist and GI docs"

only referral that goes out is the bore scope of the exit ramp.

So, I set up the patient portal as I was tired of sitting on the phone for 1.75 hours at a time to talk to a person.

message 1 to doc:

Me "Doc, seriously, where are the labs, where is the referral for the allergist"

24 hours laterReply from staff "Dr XXXXXX ony has the GI referral set up"

2 hours later - Me "Please pass these pics along to the doc, if he doesnt set up the lab work and allergist, please change my primary to a doctor that listens and can get it done. I understand the colonoscopy makes the medical group more money, however I will keep rescheduling it until you guys get the other referals

3 weeks later, (last week), lab work appt. they take 12 vials of blood for 3 different lab panels and there is a FOV set up for today. That day, also met with the GI specialist for the scope. have the prescription of super colon blow now set

colon-blow.jpg

This Monday I had an allergist appt set up and as of Wednesday a Rheumatologist appt.

will soon find out what is causing the CEL to be lit

I was RX drug free till a year ago, I have the high blood pressure no blood cause for it, every thing else is good except the long commute and stressful job. I guess I am lucky I have college friends who are in worse shape. I think as we age it is important to not be fat, even if it hurts you have to keep moving every day.

I had to make some big adjustments several years back due to some GI issues. They seem to have helped a lot in preserving the drive train and frame. Lotsa' squeakin' going on that didn't before, dents for sure and the paint has lost whatever luster it had. But mostly I go pretty well.

I did have to start some BP meds (diastolic is a little high) which is weird to me. Diet had to change dramatically about 10 years ago, and I know that helped - including some weight loss. About six years ago I managed to build a habit of working out three nights a week. Hate it, but it seems to help a lot too.

Doc asked me what was bothering me today? Told her it was nouns

She asked nouns?

Said yes, you know, people, places, and things. Now she has scheduled my labs and then asked me if I wanted to go to Anger Management Classes. The joys of military medicine

expelled food I ate as a 3 year old....

Doc's joke from a prior patient just prior to lights out. "do you know what makes the camera so special?" There is an arse on both ends

other than that, and a few other tests done. apparently I am healthy

still no answer on what is triggering the histamine reaction every once in a while

I told my Doc that I should get a ring, or at least a dinner before he had his way with me. He looked at the Anesthetist and said, "Put him out." I guess that was a "No."
