Trying to put outdrive back on

I am trying to get my 1988 Alpha One outdrive back on my boat. The drive shaft is in the gimbal bearing but I cant seem to get it lined up with the engine. Is there some sort of trick or something that I'm not doing? I tried to get inside the boat to see if I could grab the drive shaft and line it up while someone pushed from the outside but I either cant reach it or it's enclosed (not sure). Thanks in advance for the help!

Nevermind......... Should Should have read some posts first. I used a breaker bar to turn the crankshaft and after about one inch I hear the drive shaft line up and fall right into place. Live and learn.

it's close to 100 degrees here, I can see how that happened
