Recently purchased a 1999 Cobalt 206. I can’t find the model number for the engine anywhere in the bay or stamped on the engine to ensure I order correct parts. Any help deciphering this would be appreciated!

I’ve located the following On the engine

a plate that states:

quicksilver remanufacturing
Serial number 92025614
PN 807449R50
Date: 06/11/2019
Bore OS - 020
Main Brgns - 010
Thrust width: STD
Rod Brngs: 010

The outdrive :
Volvo Penta SX-M
Serial number 4112076215
Part number 3868891
Ratio 1.60

Welcome
Lets not start a Thread in the Merc and VP sections asking the same questions. Is this a Merc or VP motor. Indicate the drive is VP

Do you have a photo of the engine handy?

Being you have both a Volvo drive and Merc engine block, you'll need to know what engine components are on the outside of the block...Mostly that is and depending on the type of service work you're doing here.

807449R50 is the model/engine block part number and it comes as/with this LB 5.7L-RM 96-UP Model # 807449R50,
, https://obparts.com/remanufactured-oem-quicksilver-5-7l-v8-pro-series-inboard-longblock-gen-1996-up/

The 92025614 is the serial number and may or may not help much depending on what style components are mounted to the long block.

I’ll have to get better pictures tomorrow, I posted the best ones I have for tonight if that helps at all

From the pics and numbers it appears to me (note maybe only me) that this is a VP motor that was replaced by a Merc reman.

OK, seeing the Holley carb means the Merc reman has had the VP carb, intake and other stuff installed on it. So it's a GL model (2 BBL)

You essentially still have a Volvo engine combination...Was there still a plastic cover over the flame arrestor that said 5.?G??? number and letter wise?

Here should be all your engine and drive parts and it looks as if you originally had a 5.0GLPWTR, https://www.volvopenta.com/shop/0?serialnumber=4110187224

TRANSOM SHIELD TSK SX - M4111611297
Drive - SX-M - 411207621

If you're looking for spark plugs then these would be your match up, https://www.ebay.com/itm/2954816809...1291&msclkid=357f62074a5215549e81069f8fb4c21d

Which the Champion RS12YC crosses over to NGK BPR6EFS

Unfortunately when I purchase the boat, it didn’t come with a cover over the flame arrestor. I do appreciate all the information. I’ll have to grab some better pictures and part numbers from other components on the engine that I see stamped. Most anything I see says Volvo Penta on it.

Honestly probably no real need on our part to add more as the 2 photos above helped tell us the story and find the info you need to move forward better at finding all the parts you'd need.

But again this boat went from a 5.0 to a good 5.7 engine.(y)...Enjoy.:)
