Any one here run a trolling motor with the spot lock feature on it? Thinking would be wonderful for fishing spots without having to drop and retrieve anchor every time. I usually fishing 60 to 100ft. of water and getting tiered of hauling all that rope plus chain and a 20 pd. anchor up.
Just wondering if anybody here uses one.

Was on a buddys 17 ft bass boat last month. We used it all day and it was simply awesome. On my wish list now.

A friend has a Minnkota Terrova.
Both the Spot Lock and the Path Repeat functions work very well.

Thanks will look into it would be wonderful to check out a fishing spot, and if not working out move on to the next spot without having to pull the anchor every time.

A couple of guys in the club have it.

Tidal water...current 3-4kts.

I have a Minn Kota Terrova 60" 24 Volt MDI spot lock blue tooth, its awesome. I can control it from my Helix unit, foot control or tablet. It holds my boat in wind, and can use a feature called spot lock jog. So if you want to move 5 or 10 feet to any side, you press the button once or twice for 10 feet. Stays on top of schooling fish this way.

I run in fresh water and checked on one of my other sites that mainly fish salt more current and wind usually, they love the minn kota Terrova units. So it looks like I will be a little poorer and a lot happier not having to pull anchor from a 100ft. of water. Getting older and sorer. Thanks for the replies.

Ok I am picking one up but wondering about the 2D sonar in the head is it worth buying a second cheaper unit to hook up for the 2D sonar. And can you actually see fish on it I know you can see structure with it. Or should I just run off my main FF and not worry about the 2D sonar. My main transducer is in the stern the 2D sonar would be on the trolling unit.

Never mind the last post about the 2D sonar was talking to somebody that was wrong explaining the US2 sonar on the Terrova unit. They had no idea what they were talking about plus there was Rum involved. I just ordered mine cannot wait to get it.

Actually I'd love to have such a setup. But if I bought one and installed it on my little 14' stick steering rig, it would be about three times the value of the boat... DOH. But I would love to hear how yours works out anyways...

Took it out today finally got it all hooked up never had to drop anchor all day. Trolled with it for quite a while just to see how long the battery would last love it but not sure how it will work in a real windy day. All in all glad I bought it but it did not help my fish count today fish 1 me 0. The spotlock feature which holds your boat position is wonderful we used it to get the boat ready before got the trailer to load the boat so when the boat was loaded just had to tie it down to the trailer and was ready to go. Still feels funny to set spotlock and not worry about your boat not moving away plus still got to learn how to use all the things you can do with it. I did hook a onboard charger up to.

Brother in law sold his boat last year, took his 3 month old Terror off and gave it to me before selling the boat.
From your report, I sounds like it will be a valuable tool.

Can't wait to use it.
