Just bought a new trolling motor and has a boat with internal wiring which i had to replace the old trolling motor plug. I have a minn kota endura c2 55lb thrust motor. What gauge wire should i use to connect the tolling motor to the plug. and from the plug to the fuse panel.

Probably bigger than you think. A C-30 pulls 30 amps on high speed and 30 amps takes a #10 wire.

Welcome to iboats!

That motor pulls something in the neighborhood of 50 amps at full speed. How long are your wire runs?

You do not wire a trolling motor to the boats fuse panel. I gets wired directly to the separate deep cycle battery through a 60 amp breaker. A 55# motor draws 46 amps. Depending on the length of the run up and back you may need 6 gauge.

Pardon the interuption, but for a 45 pound thrust Minn Kota and a 10 foot run to the battery, what size wire should I use.

I suspect an 8 gauge if you plan to run it on high. A 10 gauge if you don't. People undersize these all the time. Some get lucky and some don't. I will run 10 for a C-30
