Trolling motor transducer

Any reason I cant use one of these and shoot it thru the hull? I found a cheap one on ebay and it fits my wide eye but its a trolling mount transducer. I want to mount it in the bottom of the boat instead of a transom mount.

If you have a fiberglass hull without a foam or air core, it should work.

Thanks I was hoping otherwise I bought 30 dollars of nothingness. Been there before though.
