New Solenoid on trim tilt and now it runs backwards. All wires are correctly plugged in. Up is down and vice versa.

Is it doing the same thing from the front remote control and the one on the side of the motor?

Weird, put new solenoid on yesterday and didn’t work, just a clicking sound and was going to check tilt motor today and suddenly was working so I put old solenoid back on and works also again just up is down and vice versa with both solenoids. Grounds are good and battery charged just wondering why it started working all of a sudden but reversed.

It sounds like the wires going to the tilt/trim motor are reversed.

Nope it’s correct. I could plug the green to blue and use it that way I guess. Was just wondering why an easy plug it in relay can turn into a headache. Even after I put the original relay back on.

A 1991 Merc would have solenoids and a 3 wire PTT motor. Have you converted it to relays and a 2 wire PTT motor?

The original motor went out on me last summer. It was a two wire.

With a 2 wire motor you reverse the polarity to acitvate up or down, with a 3 wire you have a ground wire ,and Blue and Green motor wires. these use power applied to 1 wire at a time Blue or Green to operate the motor

Take the relays out and look at the diagram on the underside that’s usually there. You may have bought wrongly or small change your pump is running the other way perhaps.
