Hey guys. Someone has to have some experience with this trim unit. It is a really common tnt I think it was used from 78-98 and is the one with the one large ram for tilt and the two smaller for the trim. Mine is a Johnson 1991 70 hp vro. The motor whizzes along inside the thing. it will barely move up 1/5 of the way with no gusto at all, and drops when you let off the switch. There does not appear to be an external leak of fluid. I made sure that there was enough fluid in the system and the only way to move the motor up is to open the vent valve with a screwdriver otherwise it cannot be moved by hand......Anyone rebuild these things or by the description know what the problem is? I would welcome anything. I have been googling my brains out on it and I cannot find a rebuild kit for it either.....seems like it has o-rings and a brush kit for the motor etc but I am kind of clueless. Anyone rebuild one of these things and can point me in the right direction for the parts or tell me if it is a total pain to undertake. I am a really handy guy but to buy a rebuilt one is like $625, which I definately do not have. Thanks in advance!
