Trim pump OR Cylinder

After getting up on plane and trimming out the outdrive
the outdrive goes back down. 15-20 seconds later.
Is there an easy way to see which component is leaking past seals
Trim Pump or Trim Cylinder

Thanks Don. Will try that this weekend.
While im in there, will replace fluid.
Any specific ATF fluid?

Dexron is what is called out in the service manual.
