Re: Trim cylinder fitting leaking, water contamination?

I know. I just can't stand the way the dealer talks to me. I'd rather just fix it myself and save the grief.
I posted this in case anyone else has a leak and wants a cheap fix that will get them back on the water. These copper flare gaskets are standard fare on my R1150GSA so it should work here just as well.
No leaks in 24 hrs so this may be good.

Call Merc customer service about your problem and your dealer problem. Believe me, it will help. Not just you, but others that have to deal with that dealer as well.
Explain to them the problems with the boat as well. They will get the picture.

Mercruiser sent me a survey letter that I can fill out on-line or mail it in. Maybe I should fill it out and tell them how their dealer talked me out of buying Merc extended warranty because it pays the dealer so little for repairs? Or how they always hang up on me while I'm still talking? At least say bye before hanging up.
I've been polite to the point of ***** kissing and I even bought all my winterizing supplies and other stuff hoping they will treat me like a customer.
I've told these guys I want a bigfoot kicker, but I have decided to spend my money elsewhere. Just phoning these guys makes my stomach turn.
