Re: Trial of Combatants

PW2 makes a lot of sense.

I know the media has made pokes at GWB for the detainees, but in reality, no one knew what to do with them.

In fact, there are several that have been released and several that they want to release, but their home countries wont take them back. You rarely hear that in the media.

GWB finally got a court ruling, and now he is acting on that court ruling.

If the UN wasnt a bunch of corrupt baffoons, we could turn them over to them.

First, I am SCARED! PW2 is making some sense 8)

txwinner "Total political crap and UNCONSTITUTIONAL"

OK, so the USSC said so, W goes to congress to make it CONSTITUTIONAL. Problem solved.

txwinner "Why would not our State and Federal criminal system not be applicable in this matter. "

Why the he## would we do that? So it can be drug out for years? Cost God knows how much tax payer dollars, (opps ,I said God, hope no one is offened)...NOT!!!They (the terrorists) do not have CONSTITUTIONAL rights! I say keep them in the land they are found, and let the home country "deal" with and "interogate" them using thier methods, with our help. Then they just go away.
I am a evil person I know, but oh well. They are wasting my oxygen!

Re: Trial of Combatants

I don't think there is precedent for this issue.

Setting aside the comically obsessed Bush bashing who ever had this question before?

Un uniformed, unaffilliated with any nation state or government, conducting organized armed operations trying to kill Americans and any civilians who seem vulnerable, etc, etc.

Still unclear whether they are prisoners of war or simply international criminals. What applies, the Geneva Conventions, the U.S. Constitution, laws in the territories where they were captured, the UCMJ?

GWB is trying to deal with those questions and bring these #$%^&* to justice and all the left radicals can do is scream about them being mistreated and denied their "rights", as though they were harmless U.S. Citizens.

Makes one wonder whose side they are on.

I have to conlude that some of you on the left are MORE than willing to give this country to the enemy.
Since WHEN are any foriegn, enemy combatants, much less these mutants, covered ANYWHERE under our constitution?
Answer -- They aren't.
In your opening troll, you have used the word "constitution" FIVE TIMES!!!!
You need to know what the document is before you try to bestow it's sanctuary on my enemies!
