Ahoy, NewGuy.

I enter Canada from the US by boat on Lake Of The Woods several times a year. There are three ways to do it (legally):

1. Check in at the Canadian Customs POE on the lake when you cross.

2. Call Canadian customs by phone from the US on the date you intend to enter and register your boat, party members and time of entry.

3. Most convenient. Acquire a Remote Area Border Crossing Permit by mail from Canadian Immigration Authorities ahead of time. These name permitted enterers and the period for which the permit is valid. It costs about $30 USD and lasts about a year. The other two methods are free but a nuisance.

Don't know if this is any help. You didn't indicate where you would like to go, and every Nation has it's own way of dealing with visitors.

Good luck.
That is good to know.. One of the palces that we were thinking of moving to is in the Bufalo area.
But we also wanted to know about countries everywhere??? Canada is sometimes easy, because they are a border country. How about a country in South america??
