Transom thickness

Just replaced my transom. Can I get by with a 2 and 1/8 " thick transom? Somehow my thickness is varied (do not know why). At some places is is 2 and 1/8, other places 2"

you are ok at 1/8th......but no more. for an i/o....ob is of no consequence.

where are you measuring from...the key hole?......and how far around the cut out is it out?

flatness and parallelism is crucial to the i.o setup

It is a 78 Glastron Mercruiser, I measured from the key hole. From my level it is flat all around,just at times the thickness s not the same.
