I realize that there are many types of ways to secure a ski rope to a boat (tower, bar, transom hooks, etc) but my boat has the transom ski hook shown here. Do folks simply push the loop from under the hook and loop onto the post as shown? Thanks

yep. Note, that hook is only rated to pull a skier ( 400# rating), not a tube (2400# rating)

Interesting, that is the only type of hook on my boat. But thanks for the loop info.
I usually wrap it around (from where you have it) twice. Push the end of the rope through the loop and around the hook, wont come of when it gets slack picking up the skiier/boarder.

I also have used the same for towing tubes for years no issues

for towing a tube, they make a bridle that goes between the two rear transom tie down points. much stronger that way than the ski hook. Tubes have a LOT more surface area on the water, so create a whole lot more force when towing.

HOly crap what?
Thats whats on my boat too, this is not meant for a tube? I have used it for that purpose plenty of times but good to know its being overburdened.

I suspect many people do not know this, i see most boats if not all boats with this type of hook pulling tubes all over the lake.
