Well, I'm guessing that after years of sitting with wet rotted wood against it, the transom decided to start giving out. There are little spots of pitted corrosion all along the inside of the transom.
And...there are a few holes as well. [Take a look at the pics, that's pretty much the extent of the holes] But the pitted corrosion on the inside is complete side to side.
Here's the inside, I tried to get the best pic I could...
And the Outside where the 3 holes are...
I'm thinking of following what I saw in another thread of just taking another sheet of aluminum and laying over the back of the transom, epoxying it and then laying 5200 around the edges.
Is that the best repair? Or is there something that might be a little bit simpler, but still as strong and water tight?
