Transom repair ideas!

Hey all, I just picked up a 1964 edinboro custom with the original running 65hp merc. The transom however is shot. Seacast seems to be everyones choice for these old mfgs but has anyone used wood? If so id be really interested in hearing your rebuild stories. The curvature makes things a little more difficult. Well hope to hear some ideas! Have a great day guys!
