I have a 1989 2000sr, my question is about the transom plug for my hull. I was given the standard 1" expandable plug and it does not fit. It has threads in the hull like it is suppose to have a threaded plug. I put an expandable plug used in a live well, 3/4", and it seemed to work fine. Took it out and had no water in the bilge. Should I try to find the threaded plug or will this plug I am using work?

Re: Transom plug

IMO, I would fine the threaded in one and keep the rubber one for a spare.
I have the threaded one in my boat and have never had any problem.

Re: Transom plug

I figured that would be best. Do you know where I can find the threaded one? The place I bought the expandable well plug at said he only knows of the 1" expandable plug for hulls. Also the threads on the hull look like someone used tape thread sealer before.
