Transmission seems to slip out

I have a johnson 140 ML 78 it has been working get up till today. It runs good up to about half throttle, then it seems as if the transmission just disengauges and the motor just starts to rev up. There is no klunk or other noise when this happens. I read the other posts to russe in July. I was unsure if the fix could be the same because the motors are different.

Sounds like you spun the prop hub!<br /> Try anouther prop, or you could check that one by scribing a line(or use an indelable marker like a Sharpie) in the prop from the prop shaft to the outer edge of the center hub. Go for a ride and check to see if the lines still line up.<br /> The hub has a rubber insert that is made to slip in case it hits an ubstruction>>they get old and slip.<br />Good Luck<br />
