transducer repair

can you repair a broken wire on a transducer.while replacing a steering cable the cord for the transducer got got heavy damage. is it possible to cut out a section and resplice. its a fairly expensive one so I would like to try.

guess I didn't word that correct. I didn't know if it was some kind of specialty wire like co-axial or something. if it is just plain old electrical wiring I can handle that..

No special wires per say although some of the wires in the cable can be very fine gauge

Dealing with the shields on the individual wires is the worst part.
