Hello everyone, this is my first boat and need some help placing my transducer in the right place . So ....what I have read is that if your prop spins to the right then place it on thr right side etc... so if it spins to the right what happens if I put it on the left side ? Also if I have it 10in away from the propeller is that still to close? These are some areas I was thinking of putting it . The 2 outside ones are 13in away inside is 10. Any help is appreciated.

A right side rotating prop pulls water into the prop and pushes it downwards

The left side of the prop is pushing water up and outwards….and into the transducer

I always keep my prop 2-3” outside the radius of the prop

Does the unit have side scan function?

If so, you will probably need to mount somewhere inside the well

Most are located on the right side of the boat. In your case, I'd suggest between the speedo pickup and the tie down strap.

I wouldn't use the first option at all but that's just me.

If I put it there it'll be about 7in from propeller, wouldn't that be to close ? That was going to be my original spot

Basic sounder. You would be Ok anywhere outside the radius of the prop

I guess I'll put it on the right side . I was worried about that spot because of the ladder . Worried about people accidentally kicking it . Thank you for the advice .

Yes, transducer… ;)
No reason you can’t try it on the left side. Just need to put it further outboard. Can’t get too far out or you’ll have issues in turns
