Trailer Lights Malfunctioning

I noticed on my boat trailer that only the left turn signal / brake light is working. Recently, I pulled another trailer and same thing. No running lights, nothing at all on the right side.

Can anybody tell me how to start to troubleshoot this?? I am pulling with a 2005 F-150.

Thanks,
SM

For future use you can buy a plug at Wal*Mart that has led lights so you can test the tow vehicle electrical to make sure that you are getting the power out.. Then you can either work on the tow vehicle or the trailer. It at least give you a place to start.

Re: Trailer Lights Malfunctioning

Take ofgf the cover for the Fords fuse panel. Look in the owners manual. Ford uses separate fuses and relays for the trailer lights. However, thats assuming that you have a factory tow package.
I have the expedition and the fuses are behind a removable panel on the passenger side kick panel.
Note, If the trailer you have is the only trailer that truck has towed, these is something wrong in its wiring which blew the fuses.
