Trailer brake pad uneven wear

I installed the Kodiak 225 brake kit about 3 years ago and only noticed this time around that the brake pads are wearing unevenly, I think. The outer pad is significantly thinner than the inner pad (one on the piston). I've always thought that both pads would wear down fairly evenly. I'm OCD when it comes to the trailer brakes and bearings so they get serviced every year at the start of the season.
Is what I'm seeing normal?

Have run Kodiak for many years now.
Never noticed undo wear on one side or the other. Then again, I don't pay attention to uneven pad wear unless it's severe and need to find the problem

Since your wearing on the outside, I'd suggest you check the slider pins for lube. Mine hung up once from that.

Go to ceramic pads in increased longevity

That's the other thing I realized this time....these calipers seem to slide on the caliper bolt sleeves within the rubber bushings. The caliper bolts seem to hold the sleeve in place against the bracket. I've been lubing the wrong part....needed to lube the sleeve in the bushing.

Make sure you use silicon grease so you don't damage the rubber boots

Lube the pads on the shim sliders, and the sliding pins. It’s very common for brake pads to do that which are not properly serviced

Thanks....I caught that after looking at kodiak's site... not sure why I missed what to lube in the first place 😖
