At the risk of getting even more off topic. I have heard reports ( unconfirmed) that some thermal drone operators are selling waypoints of trophy bucks ☹️

Hope they get in trouble for that, it’s the same as hunting with an airplane and telling one’s on the ground where the deer are at. Totally illegal around here!

My thoughts are Drones should be 100% illegal for anything related to hunting. Huge fines should be issued for anyone caught. Just way too easy to use them in the wrong way. Guys have been using woodsmanship for decades to recover deer.

Off my soapbox now.

Yep, owned a few short hairs over the years, never as hunting dogs, just pets. You definitely could not hide anything from them as they could shut it out no matter how well hid.
Grew up with shorthairs, for bird hunting. Very few thing are as satisfying as walking behind a dog on a scent.
