welp need to set my cam up down at the river bottoms.

Last week or so our family of three has combined with a family of two then a few days later two more showed up - we've been seeing them at the edge of the field. The two newbies showed up at the river bottoms this morning with the others. Looks to be a 4 and a 6 point.

Too bad i'm not into deer hunting. Could sit on the deck with my coffee and take them @ ~200 feet.

70 yards sounds closer ... LOL!

You could always invite those that are into hunting to come have coffee with you and bring a gun (as long as they are willing to share the venison). I am sure you could figure out how to make some good stuff with the finest meat known to man!

or we could call it .04 miles!
or 2300 inches!

actually, i'm bad at judging anything much more than 20 feet sooo...

Here is our pad. House in lower left. I've measured the centerline and we are ~77 feet. So taking my house and roughly measuring my laptop screen and extending the house measurement towards the river it would appear the river is about 150 feet away. Plus about 30 foot down. There is about a 4 foot walk path then it drops at maybe a 70% grade to the river bottom. Then there is an island, then another bluff similar to our and nothing but woods and road construction parking area. We own all the way to the river, not easements from the TWRA.

So, in a closer pic there is a slough about halfway to the river. The deer travel and eat between that and the river so I'm guessing it would be about a 75 foot shot, plus the 30 foot drop.

sitting on the deck they just stand and watch if they hear the boys (dogs) barking at them. Rarely run away. I could have four shooters and drop all the adults at one time. Doubt AC would let me tho....

Looks like a real nice place Joe .
😁 My measure of a good spot was being able to shoot critters out the toilet window .
My Dad actually got a big brass ship porthole built into his Queenstown stone (a local schist rock ) house wall so he could shoot rabbits outa his vegie garden while he was having a chit (12 bore Winchester ) ( Mum still goes on about it "boom boom ...shakes the whole house ") Elmer Fudd had nothing on this guy 😂😂
