We are getting a new 23' boat that weighs about 4800lb without trailer. I figure with the trailer I am tipping the scale at 6300lb.<br />

Published weights can be way off, mine was off by over 1,000 lb. Get the boat (fully loaded) and trailer weighed at a truck scale or recycling center. You may need to get a friend to tow it there. Once you have an actual weight, go from there.
