stop trying to pump water from a tote. if it works, you are lucky. these pumps are flood to prime, meaning the water level must be 6" or more above the impeller or use muffs.

to get water 6" or more above the impeller, the boat must be in a tote big enough to get the drives submerged.
Unit is under water 10" still nothing I posted a video or trying to

Not spinning g the shaft unless spinning the motor... correct?
What are we spinning withe the drill?
I actually heated up a 7/8 deep 12 pt socket and. Tweeked it until it fit snugly on shaft then welded bolt thru end and using 1/2" Dewalt vari drill. Works nicely
Fits tight as to not damage shaft !! Almost like it was made for it

Now I'm baffled...
Are you spinning the prop shaft while in neutral?? I'm not an ace technician like most of these guys on here but don't think that will work

Prop is OFF and it is in neutral !!! Plugged oil hole on fin and added oil
Not the prop shaft but the main sgaft that goes into the upper unit gear

I am having a similar issue. Does the copper tubing need to have a decent seal where it connects with the power head to allow for a good vacuum for the stream? I blew into the pisser with a mouthful of water while my outboard was in the water and I could hear air bubbles where there was an air leak just under the power head. Trying to figure out if this is a big deal or not before I start to tear that part of the motor apart.

Apologies. It seemed relevant to the conversation but I can look elsewhere for an answer.
Not really, this is the Merc inboard outboard forum. Apparently you are asking about an outboard. Different beast for the most part. No need to apologize, just ask away on your own thread.

Pretty sure it hasn't spun but I will paint inside of impeller and double check this time. Thanks

Going to look at 1 more time then install and take boat to launch and dunk it there /fun off engines ans see if water comes out thru hull exhaust ? Hopefully it will if not new=used lower I guess - nothing else I can do .
It is against all physics why has not been pumping in tote . But I've seen stranger things . šŸ˜•
