Hi I have a new Tohatsu on order and have a couple of questions for owners, Is it necessary to have an extra fuel water trap or is the one on the motor sufficient-Is the fuel filter a replaceable paper type filter and if so does anyone know what micron it is-With the electric trim at what speed does it not hold position if used for trimming.

You men a a fuel/water separator unit, it's entirely up to you, never have installed one nor plan installing one in the near future, use fresh fuel on all my outings every time. The internal fuel filter it's a mesh type filter if cleaned regularly will work as new for as long the motor works. The electric trim will hold on at any trim position you like speeding with...

I have the 20 and just use it as it came but I always run premium fuel with a bit of Sea Foam. Mine is a 2018 and never a problem
