Here in Tennessee, we have pretty rocky lakes. I wouldn't do that here. But other places I've been with softer sandy bottoms, and in still water like that - I'd do that. I'll even beach a boat in the right conditions.

Doesn't hurt it if you do it once, make a habit of it and you will see wear, and when you see wear don't just throw a keel guard over it.

To have the keel properly repaired by a reputable shop with a high quality keel guard is going to run you about $1000. Do not buy a Bass pro bargain keel guard and expect it to last long.

The boat is 33 years old, you're not going to hurt it unless you park it on rocks.

Hard to tell…I know a spot where the bow of a 22’er touches the shore yet the depth finder reads 32 ft.

used to beach all the time on longboat pass's beercan beach with the searay. bow was up on shore, prop was in 11 feet of swift moving water. after 3 or 4 times, wore thru the gel, went to a keel guard. Now its no longer legal to pull up on that beach

The pic above looks quite like the beach I have been going to for almost 60 years now. It's all sand. We motor in slow and cut off the engine at the last minute and then raise the outdrive. Jump in, grab the bow eye and pull her up onto the sand.

The stem sees no damage. The first 3 feet of the keel looks "sanded" (LOL) but it's only on the surface of the gel coat. Can't see it anyway.

When we leave I get out, push the boat into deeper water, and then climb up on the stern ladder and give her a gentle push. When she hits the deep water I drop the outdrive and motor away.

After all these years I have not damaged a boat yet.

The sterndrive & sand is the problem. That is a VERY shallow area under the boat. Shadow is right against the entire hull. Easy to lower sterndrive and get some sand. Maybe. I have sanded a sterndrive.
