It likely would give you a bit of a workout - which if being used just for an emergency doesn't seam like too big of a price to pay. Also, assuming a person keeps a consistent pace - a hand pump that can beat a 12v pump to 35 psi, will also beat it to 65 psi. Both pumps are experiencing the same linear function, so there will be no crossover in the two functions as pressure gets higher. Now if the "power" supplied to the hand pump tries going to quickly and wears themselves out and takes a break for a few minutes - sure. I imagine the high quality 12V pumps are great.. but the cheap (ie harbor freight jobs or similar) are made of cheap plastic parts that i would not trust to last very long either.
