My permatrim was made to fit ....I mean all they have to do is cut a different shaped hole , they have a list of models and sizes ....and they match the factory colour for you . I think its powder baked 🙂

Finally got the compression plate out on the water again. I also added more holes to my jack plate and took my motor two inches higher than my last outing. While I can't say I picked up any speed, my little mariner pumps water at WOT waaaaaay better. Like night and day. Before, there would hardly be a trickle coming out of the tell tail at WOT. Enough to know I'm pumping but not enough to make me not nervous about prolonged WOT. Now this thing shoots as good a stream as at idle, which is when it would be at its best before. Certainly enough I can see it while at top speed. That makes me feel a lot better since these little 5hp yamaha/mariners don't put out much of a stream to begin with. As far as planing, I might be planing easier but it's hard to compare. I can definitely run my motor higher without losing water pressure which is really cool since I plan to use this boat as a mini duck boat, and want as much clearance as possible. I may even try throwing the motor another inch. Also, I trimmed the compression plate a bit to make it more streamlined. Definitely doesn't splash near as bad.
