Hi, I have a 1991 25 hp Short shaft remote Mercury with the original prop. Tonight while going up on plane, the motor revved up but the boat slowed down at about 3000 rpm. it's fine at low rpm. Did the rubber bushing in the prop give up the ghost? Thanks.

It certainly sounds like a spun prop.Luckily, new props are $75 to $100,if the blades are good and just the hub can be replaced,it will be cheaper.
