86 Celeberty 350/260 Hp. Have heard this ticking/clicking noise every now and then only at low speeds. Last weekend when in No Wake zone and sun going down had my son pull engine cover off while cruising. There it was a spark jumping from the coil plug to the positive maybe negitive side of the coil post. It is the one on the left when looking down on the coil. Any way we stoped pulled the plug wire, wiped it off and pulled the wires off post and cleaned them up. Put it all back together and the noise has seamed to stop.

Question? Has anyone seen this before and would cororsion cause this.

Ayuh,... The spark jumping from the coil tower indicates Everything Downstream is Beat,+ needs replacin'....
Plug wires, plugs, cap, rotor,...

Electricity is Lazy, it takes the path of least resistence...
It's easier to wildly jump about, than to fire the sparkplugs...

The noise will return. There is a leak somewhere. Replace the plug wires, rotor, pts. After that you should notice a big difference in performance.
