Ughh… I cross-threaded the brass shift cable housing part into my bell housing (Alpha One - “gen I”). I believe it’s a straight pipe thread; 1/4-18 NPS, while the shift cable housing has a tapered pipe fitting.
I plan to use a NPS tap to clean up threads, and see how damaged they are.
Has anyone repaired the shift cable hole threads?
Maybe with some type of 1/4-18 NPS helicoil?

i don't think you will find a heicoil that thread ,
however it would be possible to drill it larger , tap a 12mm x 1.5 metric thread , centre drill a 12mm stainless bolt with a 1.5 thread and tap the required1/4x18 NPS to suit the cable.
i don't know off hand the drill size required for that 1/4 pipe thread so you will need to get a chart to figure that one out i think 7/16 ;).

Quite sure you can get a helicoil kit for 1/4-18 NPS. Google ought to guide you properly

If you go the other suggested route drill size for 1/4-18 NPS is 7/16"
