I have a 88 16' Bass Tracker. I want to move the steering controls forward about a foot to re-configure the
seating. I don't know how to ID the steering (teleflex, uflex??) system to buy a longer steering cable. How can I ID the steering? It has one cable with a approx 3/4 dia. housing and a 25 HP Mercury on it if that helps.

It should be on the cable somewhere as well as the length usually in inches. If it's that old probably best to buy a complete new helm/cable kit.

Ayuh,... It'll be written on the cable, 'n/ or the helm...

its not only the steering...its the throttle/shift cables.....and the main engine wiring cable you might have to modify as well

Call Tracker Customer Service at 1-417 -873-4555 give them the hull # off the boat and year motor size and model and they can tell you.
