Ended up only having a Cath. done and a little cleaning up, no By-Pass needed. Doc said I'm good to go with a little rest. The food was just above the Sea Rats I use to eat when in the service. They took my lures away because when I came out I was babbling about going fishing that night. They gave me a Nurse whose nickname was "bear" the first night. Nobody talked fish but my Doc who said he didn't fish but had a house boat on the Cumberland. Now why would you spend that kinda money on a boat if you don't fish? It shore is great to be back. Although I'm resigned to "Pooter Fishing" with my Battery operated Bobber which I got off Ebay a while back as a joke. Thanks again for all well wishes.

If your Ticker Ain't right see your Doc, they have my utmost respect when it comes to me.

Hey sport,
now you can get some more lures! Just think of it as your post-100,000hr lures. A lot of blokes don't get their health checked and I reckon you're going to do well.
Good luck with the fishing and I can't wait to hear about all those new lures.......welcome back....
Ross

Re: They Took my Lures away

Good to have you back....But I have no respect for a doctor or nurse who would take a man's lures away. There's something basicly wrong with that, as well, as anyone who would own a houseboat, and no lures of his own...

Come to think of it.....RUN!!! Git outta there before "nurse Bear" comes back from her cigareate-break!!! :D

I didn't know you were out,GF...I've been kinda scarce here, myself ,for the past few weeks..I had a major puter-failure. But now (except for a power switch hanging-out of the side of my coverless puter-case, I'm back too.

Hey Gonefishn, just imagine if they'd left you with both your lures and given you a sexy young nurse! In you're present condition it may have been a bit much and I can only imagine the outcome. What, with a short rod and some lures, you'd be sure to catch something that could prove too much to reel in!
You keep up the getting well and we'll wait for the stories to begin again. It'll all be worth it in the long run.
Ross
P.S. I've got a client who says you can't get into heaven with a bent rod! But that's another story.

Howdy 12footer
Glad to see every thing is almost OK. Unless you have been through what we have experienced you'll never understand how really fresh the air smells and your problems aren't as bad as you thought. When I posted I didn't mention that as I was having my procedure done I heard a phone ring and at first I thought it was the Woopie Juice running in me but when I Looked up Doc was actually talking on a headset to God knows who. When it rang a second time I politly(@#$$$)told him that I would appreciate it if I could have his undivided attention.(True Story). Its bad enough that I got this line running into my heart let alone having to listen to how much longer he would be here. Good thing all went well because I would have owed his boat if it didn't. I thought I had seen eveything but this takes the Cake.

Next time make sure your Docs head set is off.

Re: They Took my Lures away

Don't get me wrong Bear she was a good nurse. I think they sent her in only to take my lures away. Plus she was on the shall I say the hefty side. Hmmmm "Gone Fishing or Gonfishn " it all means the same when it comes to doing what we like to do best.

When they take away the lures the only alternitive is to go "live bait". ;)

You've already got the bobbers :D

We can call it "Free Willy style gung fu" :D

Derwood.

Gonfishn, manoman! A headset fer cryin out loud???
We got heavy equipment operators at my werk, that I've have to issue written warnings to, for answering thier cellphones in mid-lift!! There are places where cellphones just aren't "cricket" (to borrow a term from Austin Powers,man-o-mystery)...
Churches, operating Kobelco trackhoes or motor vehicles of any kind , courtrooms, movie theatres, staff meetings, and for all that's good-n-holy, OPERATING ROOMS!!!! Absolutely incredable!!
Thank God you made it thru to the "procedure"!
