Someone said that a boat is a hole in the water that one throws money into. If so whats the difference? Personally, a boat is just a platform for me to fish from, so any boat will do just fine for me :)

Never owned, never will.

Why? Cause it does fit my needs, and probably never will.

The reason for this poll was simply to see if I could understand why so many iboaters bad mouth Bayliners. Shoot, I don't even have one I was just bored. :D

Bayliners are entry level boats. they are built to be used for a few years when you upgrade to a larger boat.. They are a good starter boat. if you ram a dock with a 10 grand bayniner oh well.. if you ram a 400,000 Cig top gun

They are made in Mexico.. and unlike Nor-Tech, Cigarette, and Sunsation, they don’t invite you to tour the factory and see the quality that goes into every boat built.

Never owned one.. never will... BE American, BUY American

Nuff said

See, once again, uneducated with no facts. Both of your statements are incorrect. Mine wasn't made in Mexico, it was made in the U.S. of A., as are the vast majority of Bayliners. So even though I'm Canadian, I did buy American.

Second thing. Call up the factory in Arlington and ask for a tour. You'll get it, no problem.

Educated yet?

Gents, Bayliner is made right here in the USA in case you do not know. There is a plant right here in Cumberland Maryland and if you want they will give you a tour of the plant to show what goes into the boats. I do not think there is a boat made that will withstand a bash off of a rock at full tilt. All I can say is if you do not want one then do not purches one. I have one and love it cause it does just what I want, to fish from and take the family for a joyfull ride around the lake. we laugh at the people going as fast as they can to get somewhere and find that they just got there 2 min before I did. All you proved was you can afford to buy more gas then others. :)

and we laugh at the people who are proud of a 18 foot open bow boat when we fly by them.. My boat runs high 80's/ low 90's.. so if i can get somewhere 2 minutes before you do. we must be going 100 feet or so....

Its like buying a Mclaren and never opening her up :p

baja power, all I can say is I live around a great vacation place and thousands of people come here avery year to run their boats as fast as they can. the lake here is only 11 miles and we put up with it all cause it helps the ECONOMY. all of the locals who live here are laid back and just want to relax and enjoy our time on the lake with our children. But I guess you do not have children or care about their safty. there are too many things that could happen to do something dumb and take a chance to hurt one of my kids. I teach mine safety and display the same. If you care to go fast, more power to you. We find people who want to go fast every year sitting on the dam or sinking. so boat on my friend.

Question for Baja:

What brand of car do you drive?

Just figured I'd ask.....

Re: the truth about Bayliner lovers/haters

I have no kids and I know speed and safety go hand in hand. I run on Erie so there is plenty of room, I don’t crowd anyone out or cut in front of people. Every time I go out, I make sure I have all the USCG safety gear. when doing high speed runs, everyone in the boat wears Lifeline Race PFD's. MY boat has 3 kill switches and are worn weather your going 10 mph or 100 mph... Most go fast boaters are actually quite safe. Yes, there are a handful that mess it up for the rest of us. but the fact is most people who are blamed for being fast and un-safe actually have more required safety gear then the people with the 1970 tri-hull with lawn chairs for seats that they borrow from there ex- brother in law..
