Re: the truth about Bayliner lovers/haters

Hi fellas, I just want to say, I just bought a Bayliner capri 17', when I looked at it I could tell it was well taken care of. That in itself helped make my mind up, the motor is suspect to me cause I heard that force were not very good. My brother-in-law said if it sounds good and puts out water and does not over heat then it will be OK and to just maintain it well. So I bought the boat at a price I can deal with and still have change. To me this is a nice looking boat, there is no rot on her yet and all the seats are in great condition with no tears. all the insterments work well and for an entry level boat that everyone is talking about it will do just what I need and want. I will use her to fish with and take the family for day trips on the lake here at home. We are not speed demons so getting there is half the fun. I could not want a better boat then this one for the money. So you can say all you want about Bayliner but I will still have money to buy another if need be, as long as I take care of this one she will last another 10 more years. They are like people too, there are bad and good in all we go through in our life, I have purchased good fords and bad, but they are not all bad. I say that the care that goes into anything is what you get out. As long as it does what you want and you are happy with your choice, that is all that matters. Have a great time on the water as I will with my Bayliner capri.

This thread is a hoot. I would never drive one of those go-fasts. I wouldn't want people to think I am compensating for something else..

I would rather be on the water in a Bayliner than sitting in a lawn chair at the loading ramp wishing I were on the water. There are plenty happy people out there in less desirable rigs enjoying there time on the water. To me this is a non-issue.

Notinbig, I don't know how you feel but boating on Mtka is like no other lake in MN. All the other lakes the other boaters are friendly. At least thats my experience..

This thread has gone from a lame attempt at bashing Bayliners to a lame attempt of bashing folks who enjoy diffrent type boats then they.
  How educational, I think I'll be a one post poster here for obvious reasons..

and we laugh at the people who are proud of a 18 foot open bow boat when we fly by them.. My boat runs high 80's/ low 90's.. so if i can get somewhere 2 minutes before you do. we must be going 100 feet or so....

Its like buying a Mclaren and never opening her up :p
Baja Power: With a post like this you sound like a rich arrogant boat snob. Why did you bother posting in a thread with all the little people?

EDIT: I posted this after I read the first few posts by Baja. I diddn't realized this thread was a mile long! TOO FUNNY! Now i'm so glad I bought a cheap Bayliner bowrider for the summer. In fact for some reason every girl I've talk to has said "she heard bayliners are the best" so as long as the ladies are happy I'm happy :)
