I replaced the decking on my old pontoon boat with the- real deal- marine plywood and painted it with marine tuff coat paint about ten years ago. Some green mold started building up around the bench seats where the leaves lay on the deck and rot. Reminded me of when the old carpet used to turn green in those areas. Then that old carpet would stink because I could never get that mold out of it. Best thing I ever did was to replace the old decking and to paint it with rubberized marine grade paint.
I bought some "Awesome cleaner that is for mold and mildew" and sprayed the green areas then hit it for a few seconds with a broom and washed all of that green mold away with a garden hose. Altogether it took me about 15 minutes to get rid of all of the mold around the bench seats and the floor looks nice again.
I found out by looking at some old posts that I installed that new decking in 2012.
It takes less work for me to clean my boat up every year than it did to cover and uncover it.
