They Cleaned And Adjusted The Carborator And I Thought I Was Ready For The Water....everything Is Good Except In Idle Speed And In Neutral Trying To Shift Into Gear The Engine Dies....not Sure About Adjusting The Idle...will I Have To Adjust The Linkage Also And I Think I Know How To Adjust But Want To Confirm My Thoughts. Thanks For Any Comments

Sounds like they missed a spot or two on the carb. There is a mixture adjust screw on the carb. Depending on the type of carb you have it might be a flat head screw head on the top of the carb or you will see a screw and spring. Slowly turn and count turns clockwise till it lightly seats then turn it counterclockwise till it comes all the way out. Spray carb cleaner in the hole that the screw was in with the straw attachment that comes with the carb cleaner. There are three very small holes near where that screw ends in the carb. One or more of them holes may be plugged. There should be a welsh plug covering the holes. During a rebuild this plug should be removed and the holes should be cleaned with a small wire and carb cleaner. Sometimes removing the screw and carb cleaner is enough to fix the clog. Put the screw back in till it lightly seats and reset to the amount of counter clockwise turns you had before. This is typically between one to one and a half full turns.

if idle is set too low then engine dies when you put it into gear.
