Re: the da vinci code

Started Demons and Angels in flight to Rome...finished it a day or so into my trip. Actually used the little map in from cover to find my way around a couple of times. Like most say...enough facts to put the "hmmmmm..." into the brain. Hunted down and found an English version of Da Vinci Code (cost me 16 eur -about $20 us) but was worth it. Re-reading Hitch Hikers Guide series then back to Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maint...then getting Digital Fortress. :) <br /><br />-JustMrWill

Re: the da vinci code

I read it and was less than impressed.Just another holy grail story. No,worse than that.It is a cheap take off of Umberto Ecce's "Foucoults Pendulum" (Ecce is the guy who wrote "the name of the Rose").<br />What mostly dissapointed me in the book was the flatness of the characters and the very definite implication that this was not written as a book but as a script for a movie. This by its very nature only allows for a very few undercurrents.
