Tethered Stop Switch

I have a 1971 Model 110, 9.8hp Merc with a broken stop switch. Would like to replace it with a new switch with a tether strap. Has anyone made this conversion? Is there a part I can get from another similar motor that will work?

One further question to this...does anyone know if this is an open or closed system? There is only one wire that runs to the stop switch so assuming this means it is open and that if you press the switch it closes and grounds out. Correct?
