Hey everyone, I just got this 1972 terry bass boat and I’ll be rebuilding/ cleaning it up but my first thing is I’m not very familiar with these boats can anyone give me an idea of how or where the the steering controls and gauges are supposed to go? Because where it’s mount here doesn’t make sense and isn’t very efficient

I *think* I see a steering wheel near the trolling motor. I say *think* as there is a bunch of clutter in the way. Can't tell squat from the rear facing shot as the spare tire is in the way.

How about clearing all the excess *stuff* from the boat and take some new pics??

that steering wheel is cobbled to a piece of wood and angle iron

your boat was frankensteined by the prior owner.

it may have been a tiller steer boat that someone cobbled in controls.

it may have been a side console boat that someone hacked up and move the steering

based on the early 70's styling, that boat is at least 50 years old. I would do a lot of investigation on the stringers, transom, and other structure.

you have a project.
